[QUOTE=Juber]Saw that plate on a lambo back in 2005 in Lambo showroom up London.
Y 1 was owned by Lamborghini UK in Reading and appeared on their demo car until they sold the number a few years ago.
They replaced it with YEV 1L, which is now on one of the new LP640 Murcielagos.
No where near as distinctive as Y 1.

Only 2 Lambo showrooms, London and Manchester. Reading just has lots of them cos it's about the 4th most expensive place to live this side of Jupiter so people who live elsewhere and spend their cash on expensive cars come here to mock the afflicted. :p

Have you thought about putting in a request to DVLA for a particular registration mark?
If the mark has never been issued, they will consider putting it into a future auction. You can then bid for it.
As someone already has JUB 3R, how about requesting JUB 6R.

Hi Juber
If you send a nicely worded e-mail to som.dvla@gtnet.gov.uk asking them to consider the registration mark for inclusion in a future auction, they will consider it.
If they do decide to put it in, you will be notified a few months prior, to enable you to save up your pennies.
Alternatively, you can call them up on 0870 2400010, but you will have to go through the switchboard and could have quite a wait.
My girlfriend's brother did this and managed to get his number. I think it took about six months before it was put into an auction.
Good luck.

I once sold the number THE 968S to Porsche GB, when they announced the 968 model.
I bought THE 944S and 94 FOR from them at the time, because they no longer had a use for them.
I believe that they used to own THE 928S.
Probably they sold that when the 928 model was discontinued.
Porsche GB are now running 911 GB & A 911 along with 911 HUL, which doesn't mean anything. It is just a 911 number which they bought years ago.

Considering what the hammer price was, you have got a real bargain there Kapish.
Believe me, you will have any other men with your name looking at that with envy.
I was lucky enough to get PET 6R complete with an old Reliant Robin back in the eighties.
Over the years, I have turned down some very tempting offers for it from one or two famous Peters! The number, not the Reliant.

I hope so!...the amount of VAT and auction fees and whatnot you have to pay is unbelievable
I have never met anyone with the same name as me :D thats why I was hoping nobody would bid on it...unfortunately there was someone bidding on it which bumped the hammer price up a bit...never mind:rolleyes:

AJ.
If you let me know the registration, I can have a look.
Although, we can obviously NOT use people like the Police to check details, we have massive databases, listing numbers and owners going back, some 24 years or so.

When the numbers are selected for auction, they are given an estimate for inclusion in the catalogue.
This is really to aid the auctioneer on the day.
Very few of the numbers will be sold at under £1000 though.

Having been watching the auction results, here is a tip to forum members.
If you hang around until the end of the auction, when most people have either got what they have come for, or just got fed up, you can practically steal some of the numbers.
One of the guys in the trade, just arrives about an hour before the end, then picks up the cheapies.

Hopefully, there aren't many other Jubers out there, otherwise you will have a bidding war on your hands.
A lot of the DVLA numbers go quite cheaply at auction. One lucky guy bought V37 RON for about £650.
I now have a customer buying a Bugatti Veyron, who would love that number.
The owner won't even sell it for £20k.

I originally bought B19 FAS for £600 from the DVLA. Driving through Knightsbridge, some guy made me an offer on B16, which I rejected, but told him I had B19 available. Sold it for £10k. So someone's made a loss on that :)

These two are mine.
First is Helen & Ritchie (Wifes name is Helen my initials are RND) so its H & R (but we live at number 8)
I say it's hate RND, but the wifie doesn't see it that way.
Second hopefully says it all - my wife DOESNT get it.
It should read like high kicks - she says high kykes (says what she sees)
I am a martial arts instructor so thats why I got it - it's on retention until we sort out the argument (she's a black belt too, so it gets painful at times  )
