How can I find the maximum load for a gearbox?

I've been looking to change car recently into something I really want. The merc was a temporary measure for insurance and cost reasons but now I have been looking towards Audi because the A4's are cheaper than the C's so I could afford to have a nice spec'd up one for the same price. I also want a good basis for modifications because I'm looking to keep this car for a long time and at 21, the mods can start without being hung so I'm looking at the 2.0T Quattro S-Line tip auto which gives me the best of everything and manageable insurance at group 15 which will be my max.

The 2.0T engine is found in the TT's, Golf GTi's etc which means massive amounts of off the shelf parts. Quattro for sticking to the road and tip auto because I never thought I'd want an auto but after having the merc I've changed my mind, plus I can have lazy bastard shift paddles :D

My main worry is with it being turbo'd the mods will have an exagerated effect on torque and power output (not that thats a bad thing) but I just dont know what these gearboxes can handle, does anyone know where I can find this info out because the car isn't slow but as standard its not quick either because me being fussy opting for quattro and auto drops the 0-60's to the mid 7's, all help appreciated! Plus if anyone has experience with these cars, what're your thoughts as I've not driven one yet

The best advice I could give is to call some of the tuning companies that deal with VAG cars. AmD, QST and Jabbasport are but a few. They will be able to advise to what they have achieved on cars they have worked on.
