Uberbmw... the pigs probably think yours is an actual German registered car with your plate being short and personalised and all - cool man.

as long as they follow the same colour theme, are these legal in the UK?
Chaos

Absolutely not, no. British cars require British plates that adhere to DVLA regs.

how do you get the 2 symbols in the centre? Can't see the option for that on dubmeister's site on the plate creator
looks awesome though!
Chaos

You need to put a colon in the plate you're creating to signify where you want the badges, e.g D12:RFT for the plate in that pic.

is the black surround bit integrated part of the plate, or does it come off?
Chaos
13-09-2006, 07:40 PM
There's a no surround option on the right of the tick-boxes. It's just shown for effect as far as I know.

the idea with speed cameras is : you put some kind of metallic (or mirror like) type of sticker on the plate , this technique is used in the UAE , we don't have speed cameras in Saudi , and guys over there say it works , what it will do is either reflect the sun light or if it flashes at night it will reflect the flash light making the plate blurry, so I don't think its teh actual logo , but its the thing they put there in its place maybe?

How does it reflect the sunlight if, for example, you're driving eastwards in the morning?

sorry to bump an older post - but I have a question RE these plates... I think they look really cool, and am after a set - however I've seen some german style plates where the font isn't just printed on it's 'embossed' as such and raised. Are these like that or are these just printed on? Where can I get what I'm on about lol ( sorry for bad description.... )

hi shaank,
bit off topic, but..........
i am thinking about these plates as well!!! and if you get stopped all you have to say is that you have just returned fron germany where your british number plates got nicked! thus no fine :) " i have ordered new plates officer, picking them up tomorrow"
cheers robin

what it will do is either reflect the sun light or if it flashes at night it will reflect the flash light
The fixed cameras flash at any hour of the day in the UK.

i heard that somewhere the digital "footprint or image" of non uk plates made them dificult to run through the system?
also, they might presume its a jerry anyway and just bin the ticket?
it all helps in the war against the feckers!!!!

Apparently the cameras are confused by the info stickers in the middle of the plates.
e.g. If your registration was A23 ABC on German style plates, the camera could read the sticker as a letter and the owner of A230 ABC or A236 ABC would get sent a fixed penalty notice or summons.
The only time, that this can be misproved, is if the innocent party fights it in court, whereby photographs of the car can be argued over.

Your question was merely "how would it reflect the sunlight"
The answer stands.
