Do you guys cover your light boxes/invertor boxes for your CCFLs? I want to make sure I don't get any water in them so I was going to tape them up but it seems to have various openings/vents (i.e. it's not a sealed unit) - are these for letting excessive heat out so I shouldn't cover these up at all? What crafty DIYs have you done to guard it from water/dirt on yours?
[hmm. If im honest i have done nothing and have had no problems. I need to really tape it to something properly tho, my first attempt seems to have come lose hence why my halos keep coming out of alignment when i drive rough! The box's weight is pulling on the wires [bang
Yo i asked this same question but the going seem to be that they are pretty much ok under the hood as long as you have them attached to something.
I used double sided foam tape and attached the box above the light casing..
Ill see if ive got any pics, or ill just go out and take some?
Mitsu,
First pic mate is the driver side taken from in the bay you can see the white leads,
Second pic, not that great but you can get an idea where its at on the passenger side.

Nice one Ali, many thanks for that! I just had a good feel/look around the headlight and I think I can use double sided tape and stick it underneath the metal bracket thing that runs along the headlight/radiator. do u think I need to use a zip tie to strengthen it? Afif said his came off...
What ccfl kit do u have Ali/Afif? I think mines are Gen IV based (says 43000mcd on the box) and the black box looks similar to yours. I have no idea what the difference is between Gen IV and V but it's white so it's all good:) i've just spent 30min taping the back side of it so that i avoid the eyeball effect so hopefully that will come thru okay when I install it this w/e. pic to follow...
na no need for zip tie. I didnt have any double sided tape at hand so erm lets just say did it the budget way [crackmeup. Also might be a good idea to clean surfaces before you stick anything to em [hmm. I need to do that tape mod!. Being useless with tape is my biggest off putter at the moment :p.
