Hi it Lydia from Performance BMW magazine, i just wanted to pick everyones brains, we are hoping to have a Track day at Brands Hatch in Nov 06 we are currently debating making it either an Open pit lane or a Session day - so split into Novice/Intermediate/Advance.
wanted to know who would come and if you would prefer and open pit lane or sessions.
let us know!!!!
cheers

Hi Lydia
glad you made it here :)
we went to Bedford Autodrome track day back in Feb and it was open pit lane. I think everyone enjoyed it very much as you could go out and come back in whenever you like.

Hey Lydia, it's me, the fat bloke who lives at Andy's shop! ;)
2 probs I can see with running open pit at Brands - Firstly it may be cold/wet at that time of year, and Clarks is a difficult turn at the best of times without track amateurs trying to work out what line to take for the pits with others accelerating into their derrieres (call me pessimistic, but I've been there a few times :p) nevermind coming into Paddock at 110-120 and suddenly finding someone exiting the pits on your line :D, and secondly if you're running the Indy circuit as opposed to the full track (BHL tend to prefer this format on track days it seems) it can get quite busy going into and coming out of the pits if there's more than 20-or-so cars out. Don't get me wrong, I prefer OP as it allows you more freedom to come and go, but queued starts at 15-20 minute intervals may perhaps be better if there's a lot of people attending, and as you say you can shuffle the pack a little to keep people at a pace closer to their own.
I know that wheen we used to test there they preferred we use the Indy circuit as they could run a 105db limit, I think the GP circuit was a 98 or something mental (which is the same as Castle Combe and Brunty, so you'll need some cotton wool and 4 bananas Raj ;)), not sure if those have changed or not in the last few years.
And yeah, I'll come for sure, although I bet I've forgotten the bloody line at Paddock after taking 8 years to learn where the hell the braking point was. :o
i'd be up for it and open pit lanes !

Ditto the above, I really don't wanna get the scilenced centre section :(

It's me, Dan, the ex-journo who spends most of his time being the butt of John's jokes. ;)

Is this brands hatch full circuit or the indy circuit? if its the indy circuit i'll pass on this one as the track is tiny... full circuit and im there as long as its open pit lane.
