Hi Guys,

As some of you know, I got this really cool device called a gtech, it messure's 0-60's etc.

Ali and I have done a few over the past few days, these are the best so far. We are trying to prefect our start's as we think that's were we are losing a little time.

PS my 1/4 mile miles are slow, because I came off the throttle, and coasted past the 1/4 mile marker. We need to find somewhere with a little more space to do the 1/4 mile properly.

I'm most impressed by Ali's Valvetronic, sub 9 secs runs.

So S/C 330 vert is quite consistent around 5.5 sec 0-60, a coupe should do a 5.0 or sub-5 sprint. That's M3 territory! ;)

Most of all, I love that gadget!!!! :)

BTW Digs, you 4th gear was amazing. I had to shift down to 3rd to get near to pace but ran out of puff not long after.

To give an idea how the S/C hikes the power of the 330 on the move, at 70MPH in 3rd both of us floored the throttle. At the red line, Digs was half a car ahead, in 4th he was 2 cars ahead at the redline, then he just disappeared in 5th as my N/A 330 goes into cruise at 5000RPM in 5th (I hit 140MPH a one point!!).

How the hell does that thing calculate things like vehicle weight? Do you plug that info in manually or does it take that as well from the cig lighter!!!

Those numbers are really impressive. Can't wait to try out that gadget myself :D

Dig's can you post here where Ari bought it from, I may buy one for $hits and giggles!

Quality info. Would be very interested to see some figures from a std 330ci run.

I need to do some proper runs, all the way up to 130mph, just look at the 0-60 on these, as I just did not have the space to keep my foot floor'd.

Fas, she got it from http://www.gtechpro.com/

And the weights you have to put in, we had put car weight plus two average persons for each car.

Yup, I am very interested to see, 330ci stock and an m3. All which we have in Evotechnik, so not a problem.

Sub 9 second runs all the way!

Guys, one thing that digs and I have both realised is that the start alone can affect your 0-60 by up to 2 seconds... we're both currently trying to get our launches perfect...

I can't wait to line up an m3 to your car digs! it's going to be very close!

Ah yes, now this is where the fun's at! Nice figures there for both cars. And yes, it's all about launch perfection, maybe someone needs to see if they can retro-fit the M3 SMG launch control on their car (nudge Peps :p ).. :D

I have the feature on my 330ci SMG. If you turn off the DSC altogether, all you get is wheelspin, if you leave it on but just turn off the traction control, the computer will slip the clutch for you to achieve the perfect launch (I only found out recently!). However, each perfect launch takes away 10,000 miles on the clutch.

Well when you have a Stage III Drag/Street Racing clutch that is approved for 4,000 rpm dumps, and 500lb/ft of torque, this is all good. :D

Hehe, could get a little expensive on stock clutches though.. Showing my noobness there, thought the launch feature was only an M3 thing, I have no idea how you resist the temptation Nick (apart from reminding yourself how many mods you could do for the price of a new clutch :p )!
