I've got a similar question. Just bought an '03 M3 but ther mirrors don't elec fold. I've changed the switch to the one with the button on to fold the mirrors but this doesn't work (didn't expect it to but had a spare switch laying around). Will my car have the wiring and the elec fold mirrors fitted and just need programming at the dealers to activate the function or is this gonna be more complicated?

Speed - if your car didn't have the fold up swicth in it originally, your mirrors will be manual fold up ie: no motor in them to fold them up. You will need to replace the complete mirrors for your switch to be of any use. Hope that helps.

Roy - as already mentioned, you can get your car programmed for various functions like folding mirrors, central locking chirp, selective locking (only opens drivers door), doors lock when you reach approx 10mph. Main dealers can normally do this. I have an Indy in Hounslow can do this for a minimum charge.
