View Full Version : Back from Glasgow with new car!

As some of you know I recently purchased a 328i sport coupe (e36). I had to travel from Dublin to Glasgow and then drive down to Holyhead. 5 hour drive was fun!
My first thought when I saw it was "wow, thats mine!!" [:)] I'm very happy with the purchase overall. Its a '97 car but is in very good condition with low mileage. It drives superb!
The 328's engine is silky smooth, helped by the Auto gearbox (GAYDAR!). This is the first auto car I have ever driven and after about 10 mins of looking for the clutch, I soon got used to this old man's style of driving! There is a sport button on the auto, which I kept on the whole way, naturally! [:)]
The noise of the engine is amazing and the power it releases brings a huge grin to my face!
On the drive to Holyhead I gave the engine a good "testing" and it didn't leave me short of my expectations. I blasted many a fish out of the water! [;)] I had an interesting tussle with a german reg X5 for a good few minutes. I'm not sure which X5 he had but he couldn't keep up!
I stopped off in Manchester on the way for a break. No offence to anyone who lives there but it is probably the dirtiest city I've been to!!
