Brake wear indicator lead!!!

Can anyone tell me if the lead that clips onto the brake pad that tells you when your pad needs changing is the same on the E46 as it is on the E36 [hmm . I used to have a 318is and BMW gave me a pack of 10 instead of giving me 1. I've got a 2001 330 vert and need to change the back pads!!!

They are deffo a different part number but that may be because they are a different length as opposed to different connector. Personally I don't think they will be the same (so you may have to buy a new one).

They won't fit as the e46 rear sensor is really long.

Do you have to change the brake sensor when you fit new pads??? The brake pad light has come on but i wasn't sure if you had to change it???

Once the light has been triggered it means the sensor has come into contact with the disc, so you will have to change it. If you ever change the pads and the light has not been triggered you can get a way with just swapping the sensor over to the new pads (but you do need to be careful when removing it from the old pad).
