Has anyone fitted the middle EISENMANN soundpipe (middle resonator bypass) to their cars before (preferably on a M52 engine)? If so, what was it like? There's one on eBay at the mo and the guy claims it won't make the car any louder but adds a 'snarl' [hmm Fas, didn't u you have one? I just don't want my car sounding like Peco Big Bore (tm) :D

The soundpipe replaces the factory rear resonator on the 6-pots (the front resonator is preserved). On a 4-pot, there is only 1 resonator so the soundpipe replaces that. Generally speaking, the soundpipe on a 4-pot will make the exhaust note a lot more aggressive (Ali can testify ;) ). On a 6-pot, you get better resonance under load but not droning during cruising. So yes, more 'snarl' when you apply the throttle but doesn not make the exhaust much louder when you're cruising. You will also get more back pressure 'popping' with the soundpipe when you let off the gas after giving it some stake.
I had the soundpipes on my 330 and loved every minute of it. Just don't add in the High-Flow pipes that bypasses everything after the kats unless you're the hardcore type :D

Few more questions guys...
- will this affect emission (MOT proof)?
- will this affect the back pressure valve thing located at the exhaust tip that open/closes?
- is this a direct replacement of OEM pipe, or is there some cutting/welding to do?
- hazard a guess of the installation cost?
from the picture, it only looks like a simple metal pipe...

LMAO. That's my EXACT soundpipe. In fact, the guy just copy and pasted my original Ebay ad :D That's my duvet cover in the pictures :D
I was lucky though. I bought it for £40 and sold it for £85 so let's see if he makes his money back.
He's probably selling it because he can't find anywhere to fit it. Same problem I had :(

I have the soundpipes, but i couldnt tell you if they just add 'snarl' as i replaced them straight away. Does make a lovely sound though, not too loud either.......i would like a little more.
Do Eisenmann do the hi-flow pipes or could i just get them made up? I have a very good powerflow dealer near me. Is it worth replacing the remaining resonators?

Cool, I will offer him 40squid:)
Fas, is this such a pain to get it fitted? Does this mean that most exhaust place will shy away as it involves cut/weld etc....? there must be a reason why you/this guy is selling on....still looks like a simple metal pipe tho :D
on another note Fas, I love the feedback battle you had earlier...

Mine was fitted in about 30min including the backbox, so i cant see its that much of a job, think the origional pipes are cut behind the resonators and the soundpipes welded/clamped on. Mine is a 330 though.Yours might be different.

I gave my original Hi-Flow pipes back to Roy. Last I saw he still had them in his lounge. You might want to give him a tinker. He was trying to connect them onto his broken vacuum cleaner, so he may give them to you if you offer to buy him a new hoover :D
