i'd personally get a simple PDA (Tungsten T3 or soemthing) with sat nav capability so that u can take that away when u sell your car and retrofitting oem stuff seems a tad expensive at the mo

If you want an easier life, I would go for the sat nav route in a BMW as you don't want to spoil the looks of the interior and a PC takes a lot of planning to get working correctly.

Alternative though is to get a facia like in www.mybimmer.net or one that hopefully will come about on E46fanatics (don't have the link at the mo) and connect up a decent touchscreen.

Had a car PC in my old car with a lilliput screen and it was the dogs ... GPS, Movies, tons of MP3's etc. You can take it as far as you want really and further (e.g. iBus connections to allow you to control it through the steering wheel), just hard to position it in the car and make it have a factory finish.

Erm......if you mean, does it fit a RHD car, I e-mailed the guy before I bought my 330i with the plan to transfer my carPC and it does fit both LHD & RHD as the setup is pretty symetrical so doesn't make a difference.

Think he wanted $300 for the trim (is very unique and factory look so would be worth it), personally waiting till this thread comes out Carbon Fibre screen unit (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=226766)
