Went along to BMW in Banstead with the old man last Friday so he could order an M6. While we were chatting to the salesman Dad mentioned that I had a Ferrari 355 for a while (ok so I hired it for my wedding but the saleman didn't have to know that :D ) Salesman then wondered if I had driven an SMG M3, and if not would I like to go on a test drive?
Oh dear - BIG mistake.
It was absolutely fantastic, even in the mist and drizzle it stuck to the tarmac like nothing I've driven before.
And the noise.......
A few problems with me buying it there and then.
1 - I couldn't afford it.
2 - Got a baby on the way and the missus demands 4 doors
However I have decided I need more power, and a manual.
So have settled on a blue highly moddable 18 month old German 3.2l V6 5 door for £20k - only problem is it's not a BMW :o
And with a standard exhaust it sounds like this (http://www.evilbeemer.com/images/two-mics.mp3)
Of course the first mod would be to swap that for a cat back stainless steel job - will need your advice Peppernick ;)
Can you guess what it might be?
And will I still be welcome here fellas

Here - R32 is still boy racer...
For the growing family boy... if its not an M5 - then why not go for a Merc C32 AMG?? They are a damn good car - and if you wanna cheap one - go for the estate version!!
3.2l, 5 door, £20k ish, 0-60 in 5.0s-ish = 2001/51 C32 estate...
I would consider it if I was downgrading...
Congrats anyway - what color in the R32? Also did you consider an M5... if you want a nice sound - come check my beast out anytime...
[ok

Have decided on the R32 as when the missus finally passes her test she'd be able to drive it - she always though the the 528 was far too big! And the rear setas don't fold down on mine either.
So that ruled out an M5 as well, and I fancied something nearly new, which certainly ruled it out
Have already heard a Milltek exhaust, and this for £800 fitted sounds good...
STAGE 2
R32 270 conversion - With upto 270bhp and upto 270lbs/ft from our custom remap and Milltek exhaust. Added AmD V6 muscle...
[cool
Also VW have just released a software upgrade that eliminates the flat spot around 3000 rpm, and ups the BHP from 240 to 260 - and it's free

Have heard nothing but bad stuff about the Turbocentre! Nearly as awful as the Wimbledon Carriage Company who I bought my Fiat Coupe 20vt from - blergh.
Going for a 5 door in Deep Blue Pearl Effect, which is nearly girly but not quite, and that colour was only an option on the R32 so I won't get mistaken for a TDI!
Yep 260 BHP will do very nicely for starters.
Not a fan of Mercs personally, with the exception of the one they build around the corner in Woking :D

The R32 is not my cup of tea mate, but good luck to you. Can't argue with the fact that its a very quick car, does look very mean as well. That blue is spot on, looks fantastic. [banana
At least its still German.
Out of interest, how much are you asking for your 528i? Sorry to be nosey! :o
