Alright peeps....I think ive settled on a wheel choice, but the company can only do 8x19 front and 9x19 rears(265/30/19 toyos) with a 45mm offset do you think this fitment will be ok for my 02' 330ci?

Tryin to explain the best i can, its where the hub will sit in relationship to the outer rim.

The main reason for askin this question is that alot of others on the forum seem to be using a 40 offset?

You will be fine with a 40-45mm offset. With 265 tyres on a 9.0J, you will not need any outer rear arch modifications. If you end up having rubbing issues on the inside of the wheelarch (45mm rims sit further inwards), just add a 5mm spacer and you will bring offset out to 40mm which would be ideal.

The offset will obviously effect the size of the rim.....Am i correct in thinking that a 9j et40 will have a deeper rim that the same wheel et45??

Offset will not alter the size of the rim. It pushes the centre of the rim inwards (higher offset, ie:higher numerical) or outwards (lower numerical) in relation to the a fixed axle hub position.
Certain rims have a deeper outer lip which will invariably contribute to the overall offset, but a 9J rim will always be of the same width independent of how deep the outer lip is (more aggressive the outer lip, less aggressive the inner lip).
A 9J ET40 rim will be pushed inwards further whereas the same width rim with ET30 will stick out more. But the size of the rim stays the same.

Cheers dude! I jus wanna do a bit of homework before i go out and blow some hard earned cash on some new boots for my motor.IMO theres no such thing as a nasty lookin alloy rim, its just about finding one that suits the car. Get it right and the car can be transformed instantly!

I think multi-spoke split rims do not suit M3...they look too small! we need 20 split rims [jam

Agree though dont think the OZ look quite right. Go for ACS type 4's dont seem to see alot of them about.
