6speed gearbox 330ci

Hi
A mate of mine is breaking a '53 plate 330ci cab. Does anyone know if his 6speed gearbox will fit straight in to my '01 330ci cab?

Also, do the 6speed's use a different diff?

Any help much appreciated.

Durgesh - easy mate, hope all's well.
I've emailed CA and a couple of others about the gearbox and will let you know if it's a direct swap once I find out.

BigFas, just called him and yeah he's got the calipers and holders. Car's only did 10k in it's life so they're in good condition. Make an offer if interested!

It also has Xenon headlamps if anyone's interested? but is new shape so will only fit 52' onwards I think.

Yes, 2.93 manual 330, 3.38 auto 330.

It will be bi-xenons. Electronic flap that move downwards when flashing high beam so you get full illumination by the xenon bulb. Normal xenon dipped beam you only get 70% of the light, the lower section is blocked by a flap.


What do these things usually go for 2nd hand?
These things are usually only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for them, so got to ask Lee as well ;)

3.4L, 318 guys. Would be sick.

Lee - If peppernick's right, yeah they're bi-xenon' mate and yeah they're facelift. Please make an offer if interested.
Mystic - Engine's still there mate, only about 8k on it.

I'm sure it's quite possible to bore out the 3.0 lump...

I'd be interested in transplanting it into the 318, but the fact of the matter is that it'd be cheaper to just sell mine and buy a 330!

found an engine on findit not too long ago with the complete gearbox going for a bargain at £600...

fas, i'll do it if you will! LOL

I personally don't see the value of engine transplants when you get the same performance from another car off the shelf. Unlike the guy in the US, who is doing an M3 transplant into his 323, a 4-door M3, sweeeet
