Hi,
Jus watched a bit of 5th gear last nite whilst on my break in truck on my wee handheld tv :p and couldn`t believe the price of wax this guy uses!! 6 grand a small tub!! he puts it on the car with bare hands and earns up 2 £5000 for a detailing session on a car! think i`m in the wrong trade! did anyone else c this prog? i`m gonna buy a porter cable now as cant live with cobweb / swirls any more now after seeing this guys results! to b honest though u can get "harly wax" which is about £20 a tub that is meant to b gr8 carnuba.
What u all think?
P.S Any detailers in ayrshire/strathclyde area with porter cable wanna give me a demo on my car feel free!! :p

Yeah I watched it too.
Has got me thinking I got to get myself a tub of that stuff
I would love to get rid off the light swirls marks but it takes too much effort I would prefer to pay a pro to do it.

thats just over the top !!!! i'm all for a clean mint car, but i like to drive them !!!!!!!!!

Even if i had a £300,000 car i'd drive it hard !!!!

tell you what 2,500 at least for a detail session is sick !!!!!! but then look how much effort it takes and the products aint cheap either.

What they don't tell you is that you pay £6000 for the wax and you get free refills for life ;)

So if the man gets £5k for detailing, it's paid for itslelf almost immediately. Wise investment

I recently paid £400.00 to get the ferrari detailed and that is the wax they used! The car looks like brand new but it needs two more coats to get the paint lookng new again.

The car is on a stand at Autoitalia at brooklands at the end of the month so it should be ready by then. I will post up pics of what it looks like then. :)

That guy really loves his job and he does some amazing work: http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/auto-detailing-home.html

This is the black GT2 he was refering to:

I'm drooling looking at that beauty...

I was gonna go for his services, but they don't come cheap, but then you get what you pay for. I have my own porter-cable [thanks to RahRah] and John from CleanandShiney and decided to tackle the swirls myself :)

There's a bloke on the BMWCC Scotland forum who's just started detailing and I'm sure he's based in Glasgow. Done a couple of M3's up here and they look decent.

I'll try and get you his details. If we do a session we might get a decent price.

Damn thats alot of money!! I run my own Valeting company. I only charged 80 quid for a full valete to my customers Aston Martin and 30 for a part to another customers Bently! I only use Meguiars (no carnuba wax for that money) and spent 5 hours on the aston! All by hand with no machine.
Great results i think you'll find?
