I missed this auction a few days back...

But it turns out that you can get these chrome tips (18 10 7 500 194 ) from BMW from FREE. Apparently when new cars were getting rolled off the forecourt, they used to fit these chrome tips but for some reason they stopped doing this. As a result, each dealer should have a huge stock of these left:) So it's a winner for someone like me with stock exhaust, and also for a jippo selling them on eBay (what a tink!)

Anyway, I went to the dealer and I got 2 for myself. Apparently, this is one of very few freebies you get from the dealer! I wander what else you can get from them. Anyone with stock tips should get your freebie!

Hi Afif, just say you drive a 323/325 or soemthing so that they give you two (assuming 4-pots only have one exit)!

i went down the dealer and just out of habit gave him my license number! [bang. He said there not for my car and wont fit. Wanted £11 for the equivilant for my car. Not much but i was thinking of popping down to another dealer and this time telling him i got a 6 pot so i can check whether they fit.

Try spraying WD40 and leaving for an hour or so and then remove it. Try this a few times. And then.......I don't know :D

So, what do I actually say to the dealer when I get there?

hey cris, just ask whether they have them in stock, they will check in their computer. Ask for a price...there isn't one! they will say...'btw, can't sell u these cause they are free blah blah...' just say you spoke to his/her colleague yesterday to pick these up (look surprised). just make sure u give them the correct part number:)

lol yea when i said the part number for the guy he thought summin was wrong [crackmeup. Even the supervisor was a bit confused. In the end they asked for £11 cos the 316 part number is different. I havent had time to go to another dealer and pretend i got a 325.
