Managed to kerb my rear offside, so that's all four done now in the last few months - grrrr

http://www.evilbeemer.com/images/cslrear.jpg

No point in me getting them refurbed unless I can do something to protect them, so wondered what decent brand tyres I could get to replace the Pirelli Rosso Zero 235/35 (fronts) and 255/35 (rears) with on my 19" CSLs?

What size do you reckon would look best, without me having to roll the arches - I just went for the tyres Joe @ HTR had a good price on when I bought the wheels?

And do you reckon I'd be able to sell the Pirellis on eBay - they've only done a 1000 or so miles - as they did cost £700....

This wheel and tyre lark always does my head in [hmm

255 is way too narrow ofr the 9.5 rims. Get at least 265. A lot of CSL owners swapped their 265 for 275/30/19. Fitting is pefect. However, if you go with 275 rears you will need 245/35/19 fronts to mantain the same rolling diameter. Plus 275/30/19s are ££££££, so watch out for the nail!

Pepper,

I am looking at getting 275/30/19 for 19x10's on the rear and i can get Eagal F1s for £130+vat delivered, so it is not that bad.

BTW, they reccomended 235/35/19 for the front. Does this sound right, thats for a 19x8.5?

that looks very similar to mine, go for 245 in the fronts.. is that 130quid for Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD-03's? there are a couple of different eagle f1's.. hence best to double check... I've got GSD-03's at the moment, and very pleased with them, will most likely get them again.. :)

BTW Dan, ouch!!! CSL's mashed..aye carumba! just to add GSD-03's have rim protectors too ;)

If the rubber is looking good, with no rip's, damage etc>

I'll take the tyres off you if the price is right... prefect fit for my new 19".

PM me with what you want for them.....

At the moment I am getting a set of used Pilot Sport 2, with 7mm thread for 250.

PS dude, the only way to protect them is to be careful, even tyres with better protection, are not going to stop a serious curb'n.

I think Dig's is right. I have Goodyear F1's (GS-D3) on the rear of mine and they do seem to have one of the best rim protections. If you do find GS-D2's (previous version) Stay away. They have really soft walls. Doubt you will find them in the size u want anyway

Thanks guys - have sent you PM Durgesh ;)

I'm not that bad at parking really I promise ! Had the 18" M Pars before these for 6 months and didn't kerb 'em once - honest!

I'll start the hunt for the best value Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 - will indeed go for 275/30/19 rears and 245/35/19 fronts - ta :)
