No V5 for ring trip, problem?

Picking up my S4 tomorrow so won't have a V5 yet, do you think this will be a problem? :confused:

You've still got a whole week for it to come through, it's been so long I've forgotten the V5 process, I changed my V5 to the new V5c last week, and it was with me the day after.

Except and this is the problem, because I pick the car up tomorrow, thats when the V5 gets filled in and so it won't even get posted off till Monday at the earliest, there is no way I am going to see it back before we go. I assume it is only really necessary if you get stopped for speeding... better not speed then :D

Is it worth photo-copying before you send it of to save hassle if you get stopped ?

Rich, Take the V5 to the DVLA office in the Gallowgate and they should be able to turn it around a bit quicker. As far as I know as long as you have the new owner section you should be fine though.

Shouldn't be a problem as you can photocopy it. Anyway, you should have the new keeper section anyway (the small tear off bit that you keep till the new V5 comes through), which shows you are the legal owner and the purchase date. This is the bit that can be used for producers, etc with our police so should be fine.
