Install Auto Dimming Mirror

Can anybody help here I have got a M3 interior mirror which also had the auto rain wiper sensor. My car has neither and all I want is for the mirror to auto dim. I have searched other sites and no real joy can anybody help me because my mate at the dealers will install it for me if I have all the information for him(if any wiring looms are required etc)

sorry can't help you on this but to me there is not wires connected to the mirror itself think it's got something to do with the dot matrix on the front windscreen? If your mate works for BMW it should be easier for him to find the necessary information? [hmm
