Mirrors tilt when in reverse?

With new alloys im scared of curbing them im thinking about changing my mirrors to M3 auto fold.
Is there any way i can get them to tilt down to the curb if dont have this option on my car (at least i dont think i do) i have tried.

Have it turned on or something?
My car is S Reg E46 328i Saloon i dont have electric seats (that has something to do with it right)?

If its possible to do let me know, Change seats to electric, change switch, and mirrors anything else?? [hmm

Also will the auto fold option work on my car?

Hiya Mate you do have this,

On your mirror control move the mirror selection switch to the right or left (not sure which off top of my head) then select reverse the mirror on the left side only will tilt down.

Ive tried it left right center doesnt seem to work is it possible is broken then i bought the car the cover on the mirror was lose like it had been hit so i sliconed it on, the mirror control works fine :confused:

Just wont tilt ?

Then im a bit stuck, must be a connection, thrown open to everyone if these had tilt function, i was on the understanding all beemers had them.

The tilting mirror function is available only if you have electric memory seats.

Folding mirror function is workable if you have fuse No.57, even if you do not have electric memory seats.

thought so and theres no way around it? is the wiring loom there for electic seats? and if it was could i just buy electric seats? or fool it in to thinking i did :D

Now, I read on e46fanatics that some clever buggers have worked out how to get this function with electric seats, something to do with a missing relay that is fitted with leccy seats. I'll try and find the post and put up a link as this is something i want to do, pain in the arse keep tilting my mirror as I always forget to put it back!!
