Thought I should share that with u guys...

Thank you..
Basically was going to go to the guy who did Durgesh's type 3s...he charges about 50 pounds a rim..and is based in kensington.
Reading is soo far...the guy we bought it from (Duncan) said it was like 25 pounds a rim out there in Surrey..might be worth driving quite far to do all four!
Awesome Har5ha, another hot looking vert ....arh what is the world coming to :D
nice one :D. All this rim changing! Im waiting a while before the rim change ;). I REALLY likes those deep dish bbs ones or those 5 spoke acs ones (fogot the model). Need to find some cheap replicas ;). The student life doesnt really pay for real ones :D.

Nice one harsha, you have good taste just like me and nick. ;)

Got the rims for 325...not including tyres of course...we went to a farm to pick them up!! Was an intresting experience..
Have ordered Michelin Pilot Sport 2s..Gonna put them one once the tyres arrive...
Rossi..first we both had Nick's old rims...now we all both have chs...! Do u think this guy who does them for 20 is good?? Don't want to risk ruining them...But if you could get me his details would be great..will give him a call and see what he says!!

But mind u..u have expensive taste..I think u r talking about LMs and type 4s..which I LOVE!

Dude..its all about the bolts...shame i can't afford any!!!
The BBS are now waiting at the garage...for the tyres to arrive before they get put on and then refurbish later.
I was told that if they are put in the oven then the lacquer does not peel and the places that do it cheaper don't do that...
was quoted 50 plus vat a rim though

yeah, just put it on first, all mines are curb. :( all thanks to those fecking narrow road restrictions.
LOL.. nah man.. bolts look good on certain wheels mainly with the deep dish lip though... like Durgs new wheels (very nice! [jam
But cos the TypeIV's don't have the lip around the edge, the bolts don't look right, imho anyhow :p but then they come in 20's! :D heheh time for some bigger brakes me thinks! [crackmeup

Harsha,
Remember for a proper refurb they will need to take the tyres off and re balance them, so they often charg extra to do that.
It is well worth you sending the wheels without tyres on, like they are now.

They're in very good condition Harsha, well, that's all relative to the condition of your MV2s....
I really wouldn't refurb if I were you, cos within a week they'll be back to what they are now...... I'm not trying to sound harsh, seriously... its just a waste of 200 quid!

Sorry to hear that har5ha...But damn Durg the senekas look HOTT, I went to get a quote on those from RSR last yr for my M, and when they told me the price and the 3 month waiting time i was put off, and the fact that if i hit a curb or put hole my life would come to an end from the pain... But seein that pic and every time i see ur old type 3's it makes me wanna keep my M3 vert, but i will stick to my plan and get the coupe (hopefully with individual leather)

Sorry you have to go through all this. The salesman told me as long as I gave the car back in one piece but his superior insisted that they valued my car with the Type 3s on and refuse to take anything else. The salesman has resigned  . I wasn't allowed to take delivery of my M3 until I left a £1000 holding deposit and I don't know when they will give me the refund.

Nick man..its really not a problem..they are just a bunch of idiots..who lost the key and then started blaming me.
They also are incompetent..and said they were changing the wheels at 3pm on thurs..and then after calling them twice on friday..they tell me at 1pm on friday that we allegedly didn't give them the key.
Then on sat had to call twice to check if my car was ready...arrived at 1250..lady made me wait for half an hour..and then started making the biggest deal that they closed at 1!
On top of that..they couldn't even make the invoice...started to threaten she woudln't release the car if we didn't leave card details...All Roma said was can you call on monday and tell me the amount and will pay u over the phone.
Overall..they are just a bunch on idiots..who drove me up the wall for 2 days..and I don't think they even checked the shocks.
Now this tyre hassle...its really been quite an ordeal..just to swap rims...but hey..no pain no gain!

The woman you shouted at Martina Sterrett? She wasn't very helpful at all when I spoke to her the last time. The other bad service personnel to avoid is Damian Long. Complete Dickhead! I always approach Mehmet Tilki or Nisin.
Har5ha
30-01-2005, 10:48 PM
Who was managing my service...Damian!! What an idiot..Durgesh went down there..and kind of put him in his place...he then decided to call me with a 'calm tone.'
Got 3 out for 4 tyres...so only got three rims on...I called the guy today and he didn't return my call!!
I really hope he sorts it out asap!!
im assuming he wants you to send the other one back aswell?!
Har5ha
31-01-2005, 08:46 AM
nope..he is saying he sent the right ones...so i don't know what the hell to do!
only possibility is if the courier mixed up my tyres with the other order he dispatched that day..but its unlikely coz mine had the right stickers on it.
well if the stickers on the tyre was right then maybe he THINKS he sent the right ones. What brand are the tyres? >.<
The sticker could be on the wrong tyre?
ie tyre is 245x18x35, but sticker says 275x18x30 or something like that.. demand ya money back.. customer is always right... (well in 99cases out of 100).. ;)
also if hes being such a dickhead about it i kind of assume he did it on purpose. Manufacturers dont usually label their products wrong.

Dodo's at Cooper wimbledon had my M for two weeks to replace the seals that they damaged with grease from a previous repair that had nothing to do with my seals (rear self in the cab rattling) and they gave me a automatic mini one to drive round for the hottest two weeks of the year... I was P'd.

it was suppose to be a 1-2 day job at most. and then got my car back with the hard top on as they said they could store them any more... needless to say i now use cooper croydon instead for any work that needs to be done...

cheapest tyres that I have seen are
http://www.johnsonstyres.com/acatalog/about.html
Durgesh actually found them..they are about 30 pounds cheaper per tyre than my tyre...Their website is crappy but if you call them up..they give you prices and deliver free of charge!
Next time...I think will be buying from them...
Will go to the garage in a bit...and hopefully all rims will be on!
yea prices on there are good. Slightly cheaper than new branded tyres cost my dad at cost price (last time checked neways). Also free delivery :D. Definately a good deal.

I would never go to KwikFit to get my new tyres as their prices aren't that good...So what do u think is the cheapest way to get your tyres?
1) Buy online from Johnson Tyres
2) Buy online from BlackCircles.co.uk
3) Buy online from Eventmobiletyres.co.uk
4) Buy online from mytyres.co.uk
5) Buy online from eTyres.co.uk
6) Buy online from ctyres.co.uk
7) Buy from Afif's dad:)
8) Look out for a good deal on eBay [hmm [hmm [hmm
