HI
I think it will add a classy look to the car.
I have had mine done on my Mystic blue convertible, and it looks much better, I had the medium smoked done.
I'll try to send you a picture of how it look later.

Definitely tint it, especially on a black car it will look the part :D
As for medium smoke, I've had this in my previous cars, when the law was still a grey area around the percentage of tint that could be applied to front windows. The night vision was not impaired with medium smoke all round you get used it it after a while.

Unfortunately the law regarding tinting is very confusing at the best of times, but as i understand it, the windows have to allow the light through at a refraction of 70% which means you can only have a 30% tint done on the front windows either side of the driver...
This being said, bmw already have tinted glass in them, and some police believe that if you add any tint at all this would make them illegal....
On the plus side, i have always been assured that as long as you only use a light smoke on the glass then this is legal, this coming from the tinting company that i use in croydon... I have also been stopped and checked by a traffic officer with the same tint on my bmw and it came up with a light refraction of 28.9% so were legal according tho the police...
If in doubt though check the legality with whoever is doing the tints...

Go for a light smoke tint all round - this will look pure class and dark enough as your interior is Black as it is.
Any darker then you will increase the chances of the old bill stopping you.
Its applied on the inside by the way

Had mine tinted a while ago... rear window is about 5%, rear sides 20% and the front is 45% . Got stopped by a copper on a bike who checked the tint on the front windows which turned out to be illegal as the law says it can't be more than 70%. Got let off with a warning and had no problems since. Go any darker than 40% and you could be askin for trouble.

Consensus seems to favour a light smoke and I agree.
As you will see from this pic of my 330ci the light smoke once done on the already slightly tinted OEM glass makes it look great.
The film is placed on the inside of the glass btw.

I'd recommend a light smoke tint for legal reasons etc.
