Hiya All,
About tp install my ccfls these hva the silver backing so assuming 2nd gen got off teddy.
Few silly questions checked the threads but struggling.
1 how do i take off the bottom strip without destroying the washer part that pops out.
2 how do you drain the resevoir ?
3 do you use double sided tape to secure the eyes to the inner (silver) plastic of the headlight.
4 where is this wire hiding i need to connect to the power to run the invertors.
5 do these come on when i switch lights on ?
some dumb questions but better safe than sorry.
Cheers going in about 20 mins to Halfords so any replys appreciated.

1. Carefully. :p Push the washer jet plate out from the inside, then a quick firm tug will pop it off the washer tube. Then take the strip off by pulling out inside-to-outside and be firm at the end. Use a screwdriver to lever the last clip out if you need to, but mind the paintwork. ;)
2. On newer models you don't need to, it'll vacuum and won't run. On older models just put an empty ice cream tub underneath the car if you want to save any and/or just let it drain out of the hose.
3. Yes. If they're Teddy's CCFLs then there should be some heavy-duty double-sided tape in the box.
4. It's hiding behind the sidelight bulb. :p Use some parallel blocks to join the wires to the respective ones going in to the sidelights and Bob's your mother's brother.
5. They'll come on when you put the sidelights on.
6. I'm going out now myself. If in doubt, check back or maybe phone Teddy dude (but remember it is xmas.. ;)), better to ask before breaking than break before asking. :D
Edit: Just to say, there's literally dozens of threads on fitting CCFLs on the forum. If you get stuck, then do try searching, I'll bet your problem will have been found by someone else before and there'll be something on it somewhere. Good luck. :)

hmm these are teddys but no tape, lots of big plastic blocks that you have to connect using pliers, hmmm tape must be better ill bust these with my giant gorilla hands.
?
take it people dont use these and just tape instead ??

Those blocks will be for joining the wires to the sidelight feed. If there's no double-sided tape in the box then pick up some of the thick and sticky tape from Halfords, stickier the better, it just sticks to the little plate at the top of the ring and onto the silver surround in the headlight area.

1. how do i take off the bottom strip without destroying the washer part that pops out. Pull the trim out from inside (close to grille) and gradually work to the (outside) indicator. Pull the trim out till you can see the washer nozzle. Release the trim while holding the washer cap and nozzle. Hold the black plastic tube and pull the washer cap off. Let it retract and remove the lower trim.
2 how do you drain the resevoir ? You don't have to drain it completely mate, I normally put the washer cap back on after I take the lower trim off.
3 do you use double sided tape to secure the eyes to the inner (silver) plastic of the headlight. I remember you bought the 2nd gen kit mate, the 2 rings are of different sizes. Larger one for the low beam and smaller one for high beam. Fix the clips as per instruction. While fitting the rings to the tip of headlight housing do not push it all the way in otherwise they'd snap easily. Just enough to hold the ring in place (say half way). After you put the black shroud trim back in there they'll be secure.
4 where is this wire hiding i need to connect to the power to run the invertors. You need to find the sidelight wires. There are green = positive and brown = negative. Wires from the inverter grey = positie and brown = negative
5 do these come on when i switch lights on ? the angel eyes come on when you turn the switch to sidelight position (1) and stay on with your low beam (position 2)

hehe Thank you gents and cheers for the destructions Teddy.
Last simple questions.
I take it my side light bulb stays in place and simply wire or connector block the wires to the invertor power wires or does this make my sidelights redundant ?
Side bulbs, you can take them out of the light housing and have them tapped up in your engine bay this was you will only see the rings @ position 1 and wont bring up a light fault like you would if you took out the bulbs.. Hope that helps [hiya

Yep it did,
Now im just curious so apologys,
Who has their Sidelights still in place where they should be ?
Or do you all use this sidelight hole to run the cables through and just leave the bulb in place in the holder?
and finally if it is left in place do you cover it or tape over it thinking about heat on this ?

Hmm, strange this.. I take it from other peoples replies that they had to leave the bulbs in place in order to not get the warning on the dash.. But for me, I took the sidelight bulbs out and I didn't get a lights out warning. All you can do is try it without the bulbs and see if the warning is there. If not then cool, but if it is you'll just have to put the bulbs back in and have some nice underbonnet lighting!

FYI all our angel eye inverters now have the same resistance as the original sidelight bulbs therefore you can remove the sidelight bulbs completely without getting dashboard lights. Just remove the bulb and insert the wires from the inverter to the exposed terminal, brown to brown and grey to green (in case of 1st gen kit red to green black to brown)

thanks mate please do do a write up on gen 2 if you can I know the manufacturer's guide isn't one of the best lol
you can use the trick I told you, cutting the clips off and route the ring wires through the sidelight hole... :D
