MPG on a 99 520i?

my beemer is being a prick as its drinking way too much petrol. its saying on average its drinking 17.1 mpg! flipping joke! its a damm 2litre! should be on 30ish shouldnt it?

i can get my 1.9, 3 series to average between 18 and 22 mpg depending on how i drive it... like Lee said a while back.. take the weights out of your right shoe ;).

i get that from my M3 3.2 ! ! ! !

my 318is on full blow will give about 25 but its always above 30 if you drive properly.

im better off with an M3 aint i? lol fliping car is a joke tyres cost too much, petrol, oil, and its always in need for cleaning lol. i can never do with my car being dirty lol look like a pikie then lol

I used to be anal about how dirty my car was, but i gave up !

i used to spend half a day washing, claying , waxing, :rolleyes:

then i would go to a country lane and let rip ! [bang

as long as the car is clean from the inside and theres no bird poop or leaves on the car i will not be bothered to clean it.

however i'm still in the honeymoon period with my CSL. :p


back to the topic Juber what miles has your car got, manual/auto and what engine mods ?

do you always drive with your foot planted everywhere ?

na no engine mods on mine :eek:. Even on motorway driving (reset it just as i get on) i averaged about 26-28 over 200miles of driving.... I red line alot :rolleyes:

i checked and on my 318is i am definaatly getting above 30mpg and when i redline it never goes below 20. (i don't have a computer i have the swingometer ! :rolleyes: )

In my E36 M3 i only go to 9mpg when its at redline in 3rd/4th/5th ! !

otherwise normal crusing i get about 16-25 mpg.

when im on my own something comes over me [bang :D :D... Im a weird sort of way its nice to know i can get push my car hard enough to rival type r mpg :D.
