Hi Teddy,

I was wondering if you could get a decent price for the Kenwood KVT 725 indash dvd 7inch screen and the Navi unit KNA DV3200.

I think the best deals around come in at about £1350 for the both.

Cheers,

Ed

You can get them for £1350? Jump on it. Best I can find after trawling the web for a few minutes was close to £1900

Thanks for that Fas, the guy was selling this on Scoobynet as well and unfortunatly it has gone.

I turns out not to be that great a deal anyway.

If i buy the nav unit seperatly it costs at least £700, so £675 + £700 = £1375. So i would save £24.99 and have no dealer backup.

other thing to do is phone up some car audi shops. They often willing to negotiate prices. Ive often found them go lower than online prices at cac, cas and cad.

I have done that already. the best i can find it installed for is £1850

That includes
Headunit Kenwood KVT 725
Navi Unit 3200
TMC unit and arieal
Installation

It is not a bad deal, it is almost double the cost of and AC Exhaust though ;)

hmmm installation is often a bitch of a price. Although if you get it online for that £1400.... not sure how much the aerial thing is. Im pretty sure someone will install it for you for £150 quidish. Dont quote me on that though.

the kenwood unit is going to be discontunued in about 3 weeks time hence the discounted price.

My supplier can do a Pioneer Avic-X1 for 1550 fitted or 1350 supply only.

Wow, thanks for that Teddy.

I am so glad that i did not buy it then, i hate having out of date stuff.

I hear the Pioneer Avic X2 is coming out in a few months anyway.

So i guess i will have to wait

Just spoken to a couple of people and they both say that the Pio's are better than the kenwoods. So i have now changed my attention to the Pio. AVIC-905HVT-Navigation package. I can get that for just under £1800 installed. Still a lot more than the exhaust though :)

Don't know why you're fretting. You know as well as I do, you're going to get both :D It's just a matter of which one first

I've got the AVIC-X1 and it's an awesome bit of kit - thoroughly recommend it as it has a fast processor, high resolution touchscreen which automatically adjusts the brightness according to ambient conditions, vastly superior quality radio and CD (compared to my Business head unit), DVD player which downmixes 5.1 to crystal clear stereo, TV, 3D TMC equipped Europe wide satnav with loads of toys and my fave - vehicle dynamics - that's lateral G, acceleration, voltage etc - you can select from 6 different Skylinesque info displays.

Only bummer is that the DVD can't be multi-regioned (yet) :(

I've got the optional TV tuner installed, and yet to install the Pioneer reversing camera for full James Bond fun [cool

I am tempted by this unit, although the new X2 has just been shown off by Pioneer at CES in the USA.

The other thing is that if you add together the cost of Pio's standard headunit and the DVD navi it only costs £1350 which is about the same as the X1. And as i understand it, this provides a better interface, but you dont get the cool dynamics.

Any idea on what the x2 will have over the x1?

churchwa

As far as i can see the X2 is more of an evolution.

it has a skinable display and 7 meg of memory to remember your route so you can then put a cd in once the route has been read from the navi dvd.

I am sure there are few other things (I got this info from the N2, which is the US version.) Expect the X2 out in March.

I've met this guy and his work is in a word, AMAZING. I'm not exaggerating. Unfortunately you weren't at the meet, but this guy turns up in a smart car with the sickest install I've seen! All done by him

Can he get stuff as well, i feel like we might have Evotechniks first audio connection. ;)

No but really, if he can make money from selling stuff to us at a good price it would benefit everyone.

I'm very very close to jumping on an Avic X1 myself, so would be interested if anything does emerge from this. Maybe we'll end up with a group buy on audio. :p :D

Is that a definite? I have a habit of buying stuff just as it gets discontinued, so I'm trying not to do so this time if I can help it. I didn't see anything on Pioneer's site about it, but I'm all ears if you've heard something solid..

Well the Avic N1 is the same as the X1 so i assume the X2 will be out soon.

I was also told in a shop that it was due for an update.

i hope the price for avic 1 drops :D. Maybe i can afford it then!

As for the audio guy. Definately has some skills. Im not sure if he can get the best prices though. I remember him saying the internet is usually the best place for that. His install skills are definately top notch though! Someone MUSt have taken a pic of it?!

Just to show you how good that price is, I got this back today from the guy I used to use when I mentioned putting one in on top of his previous install:

"The Avic X1 has a retail of £2200 plus installation, but recently we have been doing them for £2000 installed plus any parts, I.E. Wiring harness and Facia adaptors."

The Tedster strikes again! [bow

Chaos,

Man you must be going to Sextons or Auto Audio to be charged that price. All the other shops have been doing it for £1300-£1400 for quite some time now.

I will never know how they get away with charging thoe sorts of prices.

Was Unique Car Sounds in Lightwater (just off the M3 near Bracknell). They always used to be ok, maybe they decided to try and make some profit off me this time. :(
