Hi Guys,

The new car is fitted with Pirelli P Zero Nero Tyres and I was wondering if anyone had any experience or thoughts on them. They are on 19" CSL wheels. As Roy is about to fit a full StopTec BBK then I'm hoping that stopping wont be a problem.

I am wondering if they are good enough to get me through the winter and to take to the Ring in march.

The 330ci has PS2's on and they are IMO great, but I know nothing about the Nero's.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Jay

That impressive!! My rear Rossos lasted 6k :(

Merlin: P-Zero Neros are semi slick tyres, they are fitted as standard on cars like the 360 Challenge Stradale. Fantastic grip in the dry but I'm not sure about aquaplaning though.

I have them on my 18s but as the wheels have been in storage since last month I forgot if they are the Neros or Rossos.

Grip wise, awesome! In the 4-5 months I had them on the car, the tread showed no signs of wearing too much. Granted I'm not the hardest of drivers but they looked almost brand new! Even a weekend to the Ring back in Sept, they were very grippy! Even then they didn't show too many signs of wearing a lot.

BUT, I think they're not the quietest of tyres. :( When I went back to 17s, the road noise was quite a bit less than the 18s (Yokos and Michelin on 17s). The noise from the Pirellis was quite annoying actually. :(

Nick, those are P-Zero Corsa's...

P-Zero Nero's are one step down from the Rosso's, basically a more budget performance tyre.

Durgesh used to run them on his 330. They're very smooth and grippy, with very little road noise.

I'd recommend them.

Pzero Nero are brilliant! excellent grip in wet and dry and last ages! I had them in my E36 328 and they had done 18k and about 1/2 worn! In my opinion that is amazing!

Previously I had the Rosso's and they were bald in about 9k!

I was told that the Nero is a direct replacement for the Rosso's but the compound is no way near as soft on the nero.

You won't be disappointed [ok

Thanks Guys.

Looks like they will be staying on then and going to the Ring too.

I really appreciate your advice.

Yeah but remember i live on the IOW and there's no motorway and only a tiny dual carriageway (1/4 mile), barely get above 50mph apart from late at night when you can hit the dizzy heights of maybe 90mph for a second or two!!!
