Hi guys,
I am in 2 minds as to which to go for.
1. Ac Schnitzer Exhaust for my M Coupe (£1000 fitted)
2. Sat Nav Kenwood KVT 725 (£1399 in nav unit from Car Audio Center (http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product.asp?product=20699) ) or the Pioneer Avic X1 (£1389 from Car Audio Center (http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product.asp?product=19728) )
I hear the the menus on the Kenwood are much better than the X1, but the kenwood costs more if i want to get TMC. (Which is a bit of a con if you ask me.)
Any help would be much apprecieated.

Either would be good, you want to change the head unit anywayz right now, and if you have sold the old Pioneer one, then use that and get the Pioneer AV, i hear its really good one.

Been doing some research on the sat nav and the X1 does not have animated menus unlike the kenwood. ;)
The other Pio's do but they cost much more than the Kenwoods.
Does anyone know of any decent forums for car audio?

Sat nav. I would go for what want and don't have first ;)
BTW, did you use Eurotunnel?

i like the avic x1
but now i am thinking off just getting the tomtom go portable satnav ( around £400ish)
and maybe a dvd player on it's own.
can't be bothered to install and take it off when i change cars, also i can use it on any cars or lend it to my friends and family to use. ;)

As you might have guessed i am leaning towards the sat nav at the moment, and the Kenwood one at that.
Teddy cna you get any decent prices on the 725 with navi?
Pepper, i had a great email back from David and h said that in order for it to be really worth while it have to come back in 3 days, then it costs only £45. Otherwise it is £180.
Just to let you all know speedferries.co.uk are the easy jet of feriies, doing a it for a fixed rate of £50. Not bad if you ask me, and you go on a cat so it is quick.

I would go for the Pioneer the sat nav is far superior to that of the Kenwood, and if you are going to install it yourself you will not have any trouble with the Pioneer and the Kenwood can be a nightmare to install and setup.
You can also get the mfsw to work with the Pioneer and not the Kenwood, no contest in my mind.

true about the pioneer, the only down side is the lack of screen size. 6.5inch rather than 7.
It does however have TMC built in rather than an add on unit so the price ends up being cheaper.
As i dont have a MFSW it does not really matter, but i always did like Pioneer stuff.

so u getting the pioneer??
thought it was gonna be exhaust first??

I really dont know, i am in 2 minds as always.
I could get the exhaust and the rear spoiler for the same money.
I could also get a new set of rims for the money!!
I have just spoken to a couple of people and they both say that the Pio's are better. I can get the AVIC-905HVT-Navigation package for about £1780 installed with the speed pulse generator.
Can anyone better that?

Thanks for that, looks like i am going to have to put the sat nav on hold for the time being.
I totally blame Fas, as he hooked me up with such a great offer on my exhaust i could not say no. :) Broom broom, i cannot wait until the 6 weeks are up!!!
Thanks so much for that Fas!

did you get to speak to Graham or Ian to confirm everything?
And regardless, you have to admit, it was a helluva deal :D
BTW, if anyone needs genuine BMW / ACS / Alpina parts, drop me a part number and I'll see what I can do

Going back to the nav, I don't think your car needs a speed pulse generator, the speed pulse is either in the radio plug or it is behind the speedo, it will be the black/white wire. It will just hook up to the new nav.
If your interested I have a AVHP6500 and AVIC 900DVD for sale as the new BMW has factory fit nav. PM me if interested.

I will keep you informed Fas!!!
RS BMW, what price are you looking for. I know there might be others on the forum who might be interested.

Harsha, you will want 19's on your car. Just like durgs is getting. Then you can use his springs that he is going o replace on your to slightly lower it.
There is not that much difference in price between them. :)

Harsh
Type 4's don't exist in 18's. Type 4 19's are one piece, type 4 20's have a bolted pattern. Even though they're bolted, it's actually still a one piece rim. Very sneaky of BMW.
Type 4 18's are only available as replicas

K can you find me the price of type 4 19's please Fas....(so i can ponder)
am getting a bit concerned about putting 19s..rubbing..have to roll the arches..have to put new suspension on..tyres more expensive...
I can barely afford second hand 18s...let alone 19s with all of those extra costs..I know it will look pimping....but...gotta be a bit practical!

If I am not mistaken..Durgesh is still using peppers susenspion which is for a coupe therefore is lower than it should be..
and I think when he fits his new suspension on..he is goign to give it back to Pepper..
So £170 for suspension right Fas??
BigFas

Springs will be £120ish, fitting will be £50ish so yeah £170ish all in

Harsha as long as you get the right set up tyre wise you will have no rubbing issues at all best set-up on 19s for no rubbing is 235s all round ;)

You have to add the cost of laser alignment to spings, that other 70 at least.
Springs going back to Nick.

Haha Ray..dont be dumb...(sarcasm :D) In theory you could post things like that up in the sale section but in practice?? i was really asking why you were changing exhausts ;)

I wish your figure 8 would fit my car, but M3's have totally different systems to M Coupes.
I was hoping they made a figure 8 one, but it is 2 serperate back boxes that look like 2 normal E46 ACS exhausts.

your get a wicked drop if u use durgesh sprimgs i fitted them from on his car after nick changed his set up but as other peopl ehave sai dthere give you more of a drop a sthere from a coupe. You won't have to wait for the springs to settle (if there second hand) and yo ucan get the 4wa done from feltham tyres or somewhere lik ethat they have the hunter machine and steve the chap who doe sthe work is a top bloke. If you still want a drop but u just want a subltle one get the pro kit fo rthe convert rather the the one for the coupe I know the price sof the eibachs have gone up recently
Feel like kicking myself for that comment...the type 3s are on!!
When are we actually going to see the results ?? :D
