Hi peeps,
been looking at some better fog lights, as mine are kak and just want a better look.
I know Peppernick has some nice looking PIAA ones, this guy on here

is selling some, but has different ones like 4500k, 4700 etc im guessing the higher the K the better looking colour.
Also is it only H1 that fit E36s?

Cheers

I've seen/used various brands of replacement bulbs and as u mention, PIAA is certainly a premium brand, but there are others that will do the job without spending so much. But you'd find that most replacement bulbs are a bit of a dissapointment as it makes it look good, but doesn't brighten up the road ahead significantly. higher the 'k' figure, the more blue/purple it gets. i think 4700/6000 will be optimum me thinks. H1 should fit your e36 no probs.

on a different note, i was reading an article that u can get brighter light output if you used a high performance battery, like the ones used in F1/Space Shuttle/F16 fighter jets, as various electrical devices such as ICE drains the battery and it fails to output a constant&high current (that is why u can sometimes see your light brighten up when u rev at standstill). Believe it or not, u can buy the same batteries for your 'normal' car. the brand is called 'Odyssey' and reading the specs, it's far superior to conventional batteries. prices from 180 quid so not cheap but worth a thought...geek talk...

ultimately, i recommend u get HID conversion kit and blast away:)

Where can you get a HID conversion kit?
I maybe upgrade the battery later, but thatll be cos of the ICE install.

Get the Plasma Spark Blue 7500k, you will not regret it. USD80 that's £40. Bargain for genuine PIAAs. I can vouch they look exactly like xenons, you can have my word ;)

I got them from him, fantastic service.

HID retrofit has been banned in the US, so it's unlikely you can get them cheap anymore and sellers are not even allowed to advertise them. You can get them from Hong Kong but they are still around £200-300 for the conversion.

40 quid for PIAA bulbs is good price, considering it costs the same even in Japan. I spent about 5 hours in a huge auto shop in Japan a few days ago and I loved every mimute of it. I bought tons of different interior xenon bulbs so my interior is blue at last:) HID kits start from 200 quid to 400 for pukka PIAA/CATZ brands, def worth the investment.
