As some of you already know, a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake rocked South East Asia today at 7am local time, tidal waves wiping out areas of India, Sri-Lanka, Phuket Island, and parts of southern Thailand. Death toll presently at 4700 and many still missing. A lot of tourists already on tour boats around Phuket Island are still missing.

My parents are on a golfing holiday in Phuket and it was really by a stroke of luck they left their beach resort at 6.30am for Blue Canyon Country Club, escaping the the waves that soon swept right into their hotel. They managed to send me a text saying they are fine but will be stranded on higher grounds of the golf club for a few days to come.

3 friends of mine are also on vacation in Phuket Island and last I heard they were heading out towards Phi Phi Island on X'mas day for scuba diving. I have not heard from them. Their hotel is unreachable by phone. All one can do is wait and hope for the best.

Totally unexpected....horror horror :(
