guys i was putting anti freeze into the car today, so i took the pipes off at the bottom of the radiotor to drain the old coolant out, but htere was still some water left in the water resovoir were u fill up water. I tried to top using anti freeze thinking it would be a simple task but only a bit went back in, i left the car running and he needle went into red after a while, i dnt think the water is runing through the system fully as the fam is not turning on and the radiotor is not heating up. Can anyone help please! what can i do to ressolve this? :(

I dont know exactly what to do, but I think what's happened is that air has gotten into the system and you need to bleed it.

Im sure someone here will be able to tell you how to do that.

There should be a bleed screw right next to the coolant filler cap. Unscrew this with the engine running (You will need a fairly large flathead screwdriver). Eventually you should start to hear air escaping through it. Then some coolant will start to come out but it will be full of bubbles.

Wait until coolant is coming out without any bubbles then screw the bleed screw back in. Should get rid of the air.

yep, air lock. When you top up with anti-freeze, no need to drain the old stuff. That's what a service is for :) Follow what 4-pot said, you'll be good to go
