View Full Version : BBK Friendly Alloys

I've been planning my next phase of mods for some time now - and ideally want to go with the following on my 2002 330Ci Sport

8.5J*19" AC Schnitzer type 3 racing on the front
9J*19" AC Schnitzer type 3 racing on the rear
Stoptech front BBK

Car is already running on Eibach Pro.

I've heard that AC Schnitzer alloys tend to foul 4 pot calipers - so my questions are:

Will all of the above work together or will I need spacers on the front?
If so, what width and will there clearance problems between tyre and bodywork?

Thanks all!

Sorry Roy - meant to post this in the main section, and can't figure out how to move or even edit it now.

Anyway, was planning to source from you - assuming Goodyear F1 tyres - what price supplied and installed?

ACS Rims are not bbk friendly. even with the supplied 7mm spacer, they won't work, you'll need a much bigger spacer. Nick looked into this a lot with his 330Ci a while back and he had to change rims.

Thanks BigFas - didn't want to fit new wheels and tyres, then when upgrading to BBK find it didn't fit - for this reason, I want to buy them together at the same time from the same place!

Other possibilities are Hamann HM2 or PG3, 8.5J front and 10J rear with 235/35 and 265/30 tyres - again 19". The Hamann literature shows these wheels on an E46 (non M) with big brake conversion, so this suggests that these would be OK.

What about either of these?

One other concern - 10J*19" with 265/30 tyres - would this require rear arch modifications?

Other than these - it's iForged or DPE - but would be terrified of kerbing them!

Thanks for the advice, Gary

Hamann's will be fine. The issue with the ACS rims is that the spokes are curved in towards the centre of the wheel, this reduces clearance. Hardly any other rims have this design so you'll be fine with 99% of other manufacturers

PG2/PG3s will clear.

10J you're tetering on the edge. Best get rear arches done.
