Did the sport models come with the wood trim???? Sounds more like someone trying to pass an SE as a Sport to me.

Even so, my 330i saloon on a 2000 W plate with 52k would go up for 11,995 but I wouldn't expect much more than 11k for it (private sale). So I would not pay more than 13k for the above.

Myrtle Wood was an option on all e46 models including sport

the prices have come down so much so make sure you get a car with all the toys (bluetooth sat/nav etc) probably for the same money or just 1k more.

as Fas said you need to pay more for the wood trim lol [bang

I bought my 330ci Sport in August for £16,000
It has 45,000m with fBMWsh
Zenons
Harmon Kardon
Elec seats
Centre arm rest
Full black leather
3D cube trim inside
18" MV's

Look on Auto trader for a rough idea. HTH.

When spec'ing a new car, does the BMW sales person ask 'would you like to ruin the inside of your car???'

If I wanted wood in my car I would sit in it and look at porn.

Yeh i have actually looked at the car

You would never pick up a 2001 51 plate 330ci sport with 20,000 miles for 13000 Surely

I would tend to agree with you there Pete. I was originally looking for a 2001 325/330 ci Sport about 8 months ago and they were all £16k+ for fairly high milers. That's how I ended up with a 530i Sport.......................with wood trim  .

I would say £14k would get you a good low'ish mileage one as the arse seems to have fallen out of the market of late.

I very quick search resulted in a 30k 2001 330ci at 12,495 trade. OK it was an SE but the sports only hold a premium of around 500-800 quid so I would say that 13k would not be impossible.

Anyway, what spec is your 530i. I am trying to get one now.

I could tell you the spec but you'll probably wonder if my head needs seeing to! Here goes....

Late 2001 (MY2002) 530i Sport
Titan Silver
5 Speed manual
Sand Beige Leather
Vavona Wood Trim

I actually think the combination works quite well and at least it's rare (at least that's what I keep telling myself!). Granted I will probably never be able to sell it due to the combo but then again who cares as I can just run it into the ground [cool .

Are you looking to chop the 330 in for a 530?

When i was buying mine i cam here for advice and the most usefull piece i got was patience.

I waited two months to get what i wanted and ended up getting better than i could imagine.

So be patient and you will meet your true match so to say :D

Are you looking to chop the 330 in for a 530?

I may chop it in if they give me a good enough price for it. I am being really fussy tho and I want Sat Nav. I have a dealer searching for me at the moment. Spec I gave him was:

2001 >
530i or greater
Sport
Comms pack
Leather
Elec seats/Sunroof but can live without
Blue/Black or Silver
<40k

I have seen above spec 540i for under 17k with a few more miles on it so I'll wait and see what he comes up with.

Good luck in your search Matt. 540i Sport's can be had for good money these days due to the ever increasing fuel price.
