I don't know what CatD exactly stands (minor, repairable?) for but if the insurer's experts assessed that the car was not worth fixing it (?), written off on a 2003 model, then I am guessing that the car had quite a LOT of costly repairs right? My only concern is that you'll struggle to sell it on...would like to see some pics of the car before being fixed tho. There are some Cat D's for sale in various breakers at the mo (inc FAB) but they all seem to have chassis damage that only a knowledgeable mechanic will be able to advise.

it looks dodgy. Why would a bmw get written off for minor damage to one corner? Espcially a 2003 model. Ive found lots of car scams on ebay involving bmw's so be careful. Best thing would be to do a HPI on it and ask to see full reciepts of repairs before u sign anything. Get it checked over aswell by someone who knows what their doing incase its a botched up job.

cat d is either stolen recovered or minor accident damage, but like said the damage would have to cost over 60% of the cars value to repair for them to write it off? looks cheap but would need checking out!
