Well it finally happened, i bought the car. (Although news travels fast, right Nick)

She is a 2001 M Coupe with the S54 engine and 34k miles on the clock. Also the interior is much darker in real life and looks great, much better than the photo suggests.

Here are some pics, most of you have seen them but Durgs will post soe more later.

It was quite an eventful day, Durgs and Ali picked me and my girl up from my house at about 10:45 and we headed off down to Bognor Regis. (If you have never been, you are not missing much)

The drive down includes some of the best roads for our sort of cars, lots of twisties and stuff, unfortunately not much Optimax.

We arrived at the holy grail at about 12:45 and the car was polished to the nth degree. The guy had really spent his time making it look nice. The interior was spotless except for one small panel where a bad installation of a mobile phone kit had left some screw holes. This will be replaced as it is only a small clip on bit.

Peter, the chap I was buying it from, took us all inside and went through all the service books and receipts. (Everything was in perfect order including receipts, tracker, superguard and much more, he really had loved the car)

His wife was great and looked after Durgs, Ali and my girl whilst I was out on the all important test drive. The roads were very greasy and I was taking it easy but the car was everything it was cracked up to be.

When we got back I discussed a figure with the guys and I made him the offer, fortunately he agreed there and then and we shook hands.

Now here was the scary bit, I had arranged finance with Halifax and they were TTing the money into my account that day. We all walk down to the bank together and I asked the bank teller if my money had come through yet, she looked and said no. My heart sank and I thought I would have to make an angry call to Halifax, as I was dialling the number the teller said “Hang On, you account has just doubled in size” (Yippie) The money had just come through as I was there. She then sent me to the help desk to arrange the transfer (where a very cute girl, right Ali?) arranged the transfer for me.

I then sent the boys to go and find a decent place to eat whilst I went and signed the V5, the boys phone me to tell me they were in Subway. (well done lads;))

I could not take the car until the funds had entered his account so I went and met the guys. 1 hour later I checked my balance and the money had gone so I called him and he confirmed that it was now in his account.

As we walked back to his house we turned the corner to see Peter cleaning the car, what a top guy. It was back to it’s spotless best after becoming dirty during the test drive. He said he hated to see it dirty, once again what a nice guy.

The drive back was funny, Durgs and Ali in the 330ci SC and me and my girl in the MC. (there was only 1 winner)

On the A3 we pulled up next to each other and floored it, as soon as the MC hits 5500rpm it goes crazy and leave the 330 standing. (Bring it on Durgs ;) To be honest, I love durgs car and it is bloody fast)

Then we lined up again at about 50mph and Ali was holding up 3 fingers (meaning 3rd gear) I left it in 4th and my god the MC is faster than I thought I was, it kep up with durgs flooring it in 3rd and we both have 5 gears. It really is a gem of an engine.

Once again Durgs and Ali, thanks so much for coming down with me today.

Durgs, put the pics up you took!

It was so funny, it took Durgs and Ali all of 2 mins before they had planned where my next £10k was going to be spent. (Exhaust, Body kit, alloys etc etc)

I might do the clear bulbs though :)

Congratulations mate, that is a great car. To think it left a supercharged 3 litre "standing" is quite amazing. I love the colour too. :D

Thanks Afif,

The more time i spend with it, the better i feel about the car. I totally love it.

The last time i felt this at home in a car, it was my Audi S3, and i kept that for 2 years. (Which is a really long time for me, just ask Durgs)

Don't worry about the plates, they are going to change soon anyway, i have got to get my V5 back first and then send it off again. (Very boring)
