Hey Andy,

Been referred to you by a popular forumer on here, not to mention any names ;)

I wanted your opinion/advice/quote and all the possible light you can shed as what I'm about to do, no doubt has been done to death.. but always imp when in your own car lol.

Plan:
To upgrade the basic spkr set up on my E90 (pre lci)

Aim:
Initially, to stick with OEM look hence the list of stuff I have bought over past few weeks, however, now onto the idea of a new HU altogether. Also essential to have iPod connectivity and bluetooth, even if a basic set up.

Distraction:
Visited a local car audio shop and was really taken by the idea of an Alpine HU rather than sticking to OEM HU, using Audison Bit 1.1 + Technic's Harness..
The HU was single din and came with all in0built bluetooth and fantastic ipod integration facility - best I've seen.

Problem:
What the hell do I do now?

List of products:
1. Focal KRS 100 2 way (keeping)
2. Earthquake Slimline subs for underseats (keeping)
3. Technic Harness (not sure)
4. Audison Bit 1.1 (not sure)
5. Speaker Adaptors (keeping)
6. SWS underseat spacers (keeping)
7. BMW Tweeter housing (keeping)
8. Infinity Reference 7541a - 4 ch Amp (keeping)

I'm no tuner, i have NO IDEA how to tune but have come across a guy who know his stuff and willing to help me tune this bad boy and lives local to me.

I don't know what would be the best route to go down..

Keep the OEM look and stick with the above... OR ...Sell the Bit 1.1 / Plug and Play Harness and go down the aftermarket route. Am in real split minds.

Please let me know how much the above set up will cost to install + Bluetooth / iPod integration. Got car booked in elsewhere next week but if your price, I'll stop by yours...

Hmmm, I'm not sure I would recommend CAS after the work done to my car.

I'm going to start a thread soon about my experience with CAS and Andy.

I took my car to Huets in Brighton and I'm happy with the job they done.

I have to admit they ain't cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

Where are you located?

Damn that's a trek lol. I'm near Guildford..

My dilemma is this..
CAS said if I want ipod / bluetooth, get a new HU and given that I already have the Audison Bit one.1 – stick with it ---- saw one in their E93 with a bit 10D and navi and have to say I was really impressed but Do I really need a Bit 1 for an aftermarket unit....?

I discovered today my aux in, in the armrest does work but if I put the lead it completely, only the left side spkr works, however, if I put it in half way, all my spkrs work.. how do I go about getting this fixed?

Whilst I’m still getting the door spkrs, tweeters and under seat subs changed whilst adding a 4 chn amp...

Necessity
iPod connection
Bluetooth

Questions for all of you out there..

Option 1 – Stick with OEM HU + Bit one.1
Option 2 – Buy Single Din HU (with iPod and BT connectivity) + stick with Bit one.1
Option 3 – Buy Single Din / Double Din (with BT and iPod connectivity) and sell on the Bit one.1

I liked the set up of bit one and aftermarket unit for some reason but really couldn’t understand why the guy had done it.. but then again, I was sitting in his 11’ Alpine White E93 coral red leather etc etc so clearly the guy had spare dosh to blow.. but I’m working to a decent budget and want the best in that. I keep being told to get an aftermarket HU as it gives better and more powerful signal than OEM but really don’t know how much I’ll be losing by buying that and selling on the bit one. I could buy a really nice Double din unit in replacement of the bit one.1 but could not justify buying it in addition to it..

Who else around the area would you recommend around the area?

Andy’s away for three weeks and my plan was to get it installed this Saturday – will need to let them know today if I want to go down the aftermarket route so they can order the stalk control adaptors..
