Well my E90 320d was getting slowly but surely less and less agile. The turbo was coming in later and later, the consumption was going down.. It was almost to the point it felt like a non-turboed diesel car... IE something from the 90s.. It was horrible.
I repeatedly took the car to BMW to get this issue investigated but every single time they just checked the fault codes, saw that nothing had completely failed and just said "It's fine". Blatent lies as they must know how a 320d should drive and mine was slower than a standard one letalone with the remap it has. It seems true mechanic ability from the main dealers has died with the invention of the can bus system?
I dropped the car off with Jason this morning along with a new MAF sensor I'd ordered as I thought this could be the issue.
I also asked Jason to do the rear brake pads and an oil service, plus replace the air filter.
He did the service at a very good price for me and within the space of the day also replaced the MAF, checked and cleaned the EGR pressure sensor, cleaned the EGR valve, tightened all boost hoses, and not to mention the air filter itself is a 2 hour job on these cars as they are located right at the back of the engine bay underneath half of the ancillaries.. (clever thinking BMW).
The car now drives completely like brand new again. On the way to Jasons from home this morning I had no power and 26mpg. On the way home I had 33 mpg whilst driving FLAT OUT everywheer... And all my power was back. I was skipping the back out around roundabouts and etc. Previously try as I like I could not slide the car out! Even in the wet it was a challenge.
He did all this for me in a single day. A major service and completely sorted the way the car drives out.
As said the service was very fairly priced and exactly as requested.. And beyond that Jason's diagnostic skills have also shown just how good they are in sorting the issues out for me...
Half hour after leaving the premises I had to phone him back and just reiterate how good the car feels again now. Honestly its so great to enjoy driving it again as it's been a slog for a good while.
So, what BMW would have charged 5 times more to FAIL to do probably, Jason sorted out for me first time with no hassle whatsoever.
Thanks Jason, I really apreciate it.
Oh and I wish I'd had some chicken burgers from you lol. Because I was late the boys who were waiting for me to work on the pug went to a pub and got steaks! We were meant to eat when we were done. So now its 22:00 and I've not eaten anything and I'm bloody starving. Typical!
Cheers again,
Dave
