Local dealer wants £235 inc VAT for Inspection One on my 330Ci... other dealers within a 4o mile radius want £265 inc VAT. Yet I read here that some of you paid as little as £165? Feel like Im being ripped off!
That price sounds about right for an Inspection 1. The £165 sounds more like an oil service at the main dealers.

What does it say when you start the car up? Inspection or Oil Service? at 15k miles, you'll probably need Inspection 1,

15k should be a simple oil service, it was on mine and at 30k I had an Inspection 2 at about £220 if I remember correctly, so that price you have been quoted is about right.

I was quoted £235 for my first oil service at 15k on my 330 Sport by Sytner Harold wood. Mine is due in 1500 miles so let me know if you find any cheaper.

Buy your own oil. say Mobile 1 And let them do the oil change will save you a few pounds i can tell you and you still get the book stamped up as well. ;)

I have been quoted £145 for an oil service on my M3 - doesn't seem too bad until you discover that the parts (oil and filter) are £50 trade! £95 for half an hour and a BMW stamp!
Sparky, that is a very good price for an oil service on any BMW let alone an M3. Oil alone from a dealer is normally £70+ and that's before the dreaded VAT!

@ 15,000 miles on a 330 you will need a std oil service not Insp 1. Always ask their labour rate as these vary & they can set their own level which will determine the service cost, supply your own oil will reduce the cost as well :D

As far as I am aware, that includes VAT too!!!????
I just called up as a nobody and asked the price so no favors.
Looks like my local dealer is good for one thing then!

Oil Service. My VW used to say this but measnt 'Service Proper', hence my confusion as I did not realise there were three service levels (2 on VWs)

Rough guess would be two cans, as its a 6 pot. Must say in your owner's handbook surely?

Yup! I was just too lazy to go out and look as Im in my office at the moment. :)
Thanks guys, helpful as always
My dealer quotes 7 litres for my 530 so I'm guessing the 330 will be the same. 2 x 4 litre cans will do you then you will have oil to spare for top ups.
