Hi,
Just booked my car in for a remap by e-maps. It should give my 330Ci:
15-18 extra bhp
30Nm extra torque
But then someone scare me by mentioning "warrenty".
How much of an issue is it likely to cause in the warrenty department?

You dealer doesn't need to know about it. Even if they do, I doubt there's anything they can realistically blame the re-map for that could possibly go wrong on a 330ci.
Bottom line is, they wouldn't even bother checking for engine modifications (time consuming and cost them) unless you're putting in a claim for something significant like a blown up engine or wrecked gearbox.

Cool...
fingers crossed i wont blow my engine then ;-)
Looking forward to the tweaked accelerator the most. I think its a bit sluggish at the moment compared to the instant power my Type-r used to deliver. Keen to see what can be done with a more frantic power delivery

does the re-map really improves fuel consumptions, that's what i want to know, becos i don't know if i need one as my car is only doing 23mpg at the moment, it was around 27-28mpg 2yrs ago, and my car is a 318ci
does anyone knows if the re-map will get it back to that figure?
so how much was your re-map cost gringosteve?
any price difference between a 330 and 318?

Im not sure about consumption mate... its costing me £235 on my 330 though.
Best thing to do is call Simon Hall who runs the company on 07973 553549.
Very helpfull bloke

They don;t routinely do it unless there are electrical glitches. Just tell them not to do it. If they have to, negotiate with Simon for a re-download.

As Nick say's, just tell them that you don't need any updates.

Cool will do..
The figures that e-maps are quoting are impressive... how much different will the car 'feel' afterwards. :D

when i had my 330 done, it was only like 5bhp more. but maps out all the flat spots and mkes the 'graphs's smoother, u should get ur original programme on a discs or 'chip' for backup. never a problem. just dont let the dealer do a ecu reset/update :)

Cool thanks mate..
Was it emaps that did your remap, or another company?
Suprised you only got 5bhp more...thats a way-off the claims that they are making

If you ask Simon, he will give you a copy of your original to keep just incase!
Difficuilt to quote BHP gain unless u use the same rolling road before & after ideally on the same day for temp etc.
The improvement is really a clean power surge right tho the rev range with no flat spots, an extra 500 RPM @ the top end limit & no limiter 150+ OK :D
(On-Track of course)

An extra 500 rpm sounds good to me [cool didnt realise i got that as well.
Will have to get used to changing later, although the engine does seem to run out of steam toward the end of the rev range (my last car was a type-r so its a bit of a different driving experience lol)..
cant wait till 20th now :D :D
Thanks for the help mate
