I've had this PDC kit in the garage for some months and I finally got around doing this. Didn't think I can do this on my own as I was told that any bumper work was a 2-man job, but it's finally done:) Some main points:
- Remove rear bumper (6x13mm bolts inside the boot, 4 plastic push-in plugs inside wheel well)
- Dremell 4 holes in the bottom trim (drill bit supplied with PDC kit)
- Glue in sensors (used 'no more nails' and kitchen sealant). Must be pointing the right way.
- Thread all 4 wires from the sensors through the bumper shock absorber well (quite tricky)
- Power source comes from the reverse lights so you need to tap into one for power (yellow/black), the other for earthing (brown)
- Remove boot trim and secure control box (inside battery well) and connect all wirings (sensors, buzzer, power/earth).
- Thread buzzer/cable under the boot carpet/rear seats and secure it under the front seat
- Tota cost 19.99 + 3 hours labour
- eBay RULZ
I think this is the first mod that I've done that acutally adds value...maybe [hmm
