Hi

My car is almost 3k overdue for its Insp I. (yes i know i know!!)

Now, i would get it booked in tomorrow, but I have a couple of issues which wont be sorted for at least 4-6 weeks - and so i dont want the garage/dealer to mark these on the paper work as being 'damaged/broken/in need of replacement. Namely - its the slight damage to the front end when a van/picup kindly decided to revsere into my bonnet without telling me. Thus when they do the service they will a) note the bonnet needs replacing b) the nearside headlight needs replaceing

And so - i want to have the service done once the damage is fixed - 6 weeks!

So getting back to the question - what am I doing to my car by prolonging the service any longer. I anticipate that in 6 weeks i would have done an additional 1k.

Can i check/do some things just be on the same side until that time?

Nothing appears to be wrong with the car from what I notice, no creaks/knocking etc.

I am gettin hesitation still when pullin away randomly between 1-2 and sometime 3k revs - this i dont know what the reason is...

The oil light came on about 6 weeks back - i topped with with a litre of mobile 1

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Jamie

You know that you might lose warranty by doing this ,thats if you had one , why don't you want the garage to mark them as replaceable things?

No warranty dude - car is commin up to 100k and is over 3 years old now.

I dont want them to mark them at all - because it will be held on file for ever. When i come to sell, prospective buyers may say "Oh, its been in a smash" and automatically think the worst. Its minor cosmetic damage, but any damage looks bad on paper...

Are you taking the car to an indy or main dealer? Why don't you just ask them not to note those points down as you are already aware of them? Are you worried that when you come to sell your car in the future somebody may look at the things they mark down in the service?

If its out of warranty, take it to an independant, that way they wont mark the damage down.
