Can anyone recommend a tyre shop that really does know what they are doing when it comes to fitting tyres? I've been recommended places before and then I turn up and it's a small workshop with a machine that's been working for years and on which any protective plastic is normally worn or missing, and whilst they will claim to be able to fit 19" tyres without marking the rims, it seems inevitably they do. surely there must be a high performance wheel centre where they will actually take the time and effort not only to have good equipment but to use it carefully? I don't mind paying a little more for this if I can avoid damaging my rims. Can anyone recommend somewhere like this?
cheers
Rich
If you can be bothered to get up to Park royal then Afif's tyre shop right next to the Ace cafe has just opened up. He's got good guys there and I've had 6-7 sets of tyres changed at his old shop without any problems.
Bit of a trek for you though..

The main dealers are sometimes a good bet for E92 polished rims. Not so much for price, but be safe in the knowledge that if the rim gets damaged, they will replace it with a new one.
Just make sure you specify how fussy you are before getting it done. Some owners aren't bothered about tyre fitting marks.

I don't mind short trek if my wheels come out of it un-scathed, Ace Cafe isn't too bad at the right time of day

These aren't going to be OEM rims... :p
BMW Park Lane (Nine Elms or Battersea) have done tyre changes for my LMs and they were handled with care.

Worth repeating this point..
I've had problems looking for a decent place to get tyres fitted too. The only place that I trust is Style Dynamix in Hayes. A bit far but they will definitely look after your wheels, will stretch out the tyres too if you want.
BMW Park Lane (Battersea) put my rear wheel on the front and front wheel on the rear (just on one side)! Shocking. Stupidly enough I didn't check, got my tracking done with the wheels on wrong so had to get tracking done again. Lucky I can get tracking done for free.

Cool, these guys are right near me and I've taken my car there before. I'll see what they can do.
