Im getting married next year and have thought about selling my car to free up some cash to put towards the wedding (dont really want to but it is something im considering)

My only problem is what would I replace it with? Any body got any suggestions around the £3k mark? Would probably only keep it a 2 years.

Once the wedding is out the way i'd look at getting something newer to replace it.

Need 4 door, reliable and reasonable power and reasonably cheap running costs. Dont want alot do i

Think about how much you might loose in deprecation on both your current car and whatever you replace it with. Depending on the numbers it might make more sense to keep the current one for longer :)

At the minute I think I could sell it for the same if not slightly more than I paid for it Dec 08 due to the model it is, the mileage and used car prices rising slightly.

Nearest ones I could find to mine was more than I paid and it had higher mileage. There was only about 5 for sale in the UK and that is the highest amount of them i've seen normally its only a couple.

Keep it, very tidy edition you have. Just save harder, you have a year to go right?

thought you were going to say you couldn't decide whether to get married or not after reading the first bit.

sell it, cars will come and go but you only get married once (well most of us do).

Will it make that much difference if you sell it to the kind of wedding you will have. You say after you are married in maybe a couple of years you will get another. No kids planned then? If they are kiss goodbye to that idea as they have this pretty good way of sucking all your money away :p . I say keep the car, you like it, and it may not be that easy to replace in a couple of years.
