As you all know, my family has always been a bit of an automobile nut, from road cars to fast cars to all terrainers to jet skis to yatchs.
At his age, my dad has had enough of fast cars as I took over his interest. His hobby now is overland, all terrain endurance; OAE they call it. My mum and dad has just took off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on an unprecedented all terrain challenge that will take them, a convoy of 18 highly modified diesel trucks and their die hard enthusiasts to London.
Mum and dad will be in their heavily adapted Toyota Land Cruiser with a modified 4.2L V8 turbo diesel and all the utilities ranging from satellite navigation, CB communicators, drinking water, antibiotics to disposible underwear that will see them through for the next 63 days until they reach their check point in London.
They will drive across 13 countries, covering 6200 miles. They will also cross the Himalayas at 5000 metres above sea level. Finally their trucks will be shipped back to Malaysia from Southampton.

...............And I thought I was mad  , but it sure runs in the family [ok Wish them luck and a safe journey. Mum and dad, I'll see you in London ;)
