Yes but if you surrender your current disk to them (which you would do for instance if you sold the car) then you can re-apply at any point after that. And avoid any incoming new legislation ;)

he wont be applying, i think hes saying declare the car sorn claiming back 3 months, then buy a new disc for a year.

this could mean the car off the road for a week or two waiting for it the paper work to go through.

MEGA

V5 document, or google for that rate!

e46 m3 is 290 approx...

From April 2010, already registered higher emitting cars will be charged up to £30 more and lower emitting cars will be charged up to £30 less.

this statement is not true, mine will pretty much double, not £30 increase:mad:

I had a panic about this too, typical government hair brained idea if your car is week newer than a pre march 23 you can pay double  .
I think if you watch used car prices we may find higher mileage 55 plates fetching more than lower mileage 06 plates.

I called dvla to find out what my new tax will be.

They said as its 8/3/01 it will be £235 in 2010 and not the £425 i was trying to avoid for another year...phew

To find out your CO2 goto here:

Pants Both cars up in April! £435 for the M5 now. Typical, I test drove a nice 55 plate one too. Then again I see it's still for sale so it coukdn't have been that good a car!

Flaming Gordon Brown, I only do about 6000miles total (thats both cars not each car) so pump out prob way less CO2 than a lot of business types! Not fair! Lets stick the duty on fuel, than it's fair! My combined rate would be 10p per mile right now!

Oh and by the way, where is my salt for the roads Gordon, I did after all pay for the sroads to be maintained with my £400

Do you not think fuel cost enough as it is.

Might have been a bit high there, see my other thread.

Oh fuel is already enough. I live in Isle of Lewis and fuel is £1.25++++ a litre.

Government are the biggest crooks of them all. All this higher tax for bigger engine cars is bullshit. What to help save the environment? Climate change has nothing to do with cars. Its just an excuse to make more money off people.

Save the environment, switch off you lights when you leave the room. Yeah right! What about all the advertisements that are lit up 24/7 in all the cities. Switch them off during the night first and I'll consider switching off my living room light when I go for a seat on the bog!

Im a little upset here,

My e36 328i 96 reg is currently £ 205.00 for 12 months and runs out end of feb 2010, so i will have to but tax before the change over in April when my tax would go down to £ 190.00 for 12 months :(
