Did you put it in writing on the receipt that you both signed when he handed the cash over??
If not - you aint got a leg to stand on....
If you do have it in writing then a solicitors letter and small claims court threat may do it for you...
Thats the correct way to go about it.

Thinking about it, It would of cost you £105 to take it off the car so you'd only be £145 outta pocket..
