Because I am an idiot and broke my own rules on using decent quality products!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wanted to wash the M5 yesterday but found that my drying cloth was rubbish so being the prize plum I am I decided to use an old chamois :o . I left it soaking in hot water for a while as I washed the car.
Now, I am pretty convinced that fairly close to selling the M5, the previous owner had it professionally detailed. The paintwork was very very good, or that the dealership did the most amazing prep job prior to handing it over  .
This was all wrecked by me in one short afternoon  .
The car had very few swirl marks that I could see which is incredible but I soon sorted that out!!!!!
Drying the car using the chamois left disastrous results :( :( . Little bits of the leather were spotted all over the paint and I had managed to leave nice holograms in the paint and generally undo all the good work that had previously been done to it - what a bleedin idiot!!!!!
So, I want to halfauds and spent a fortune on meguiars finest drying cloths and microfibre cloths etc and this afternoon spent ages correcting all the stupidity I had done. Bit of clay, bit of this, bit of that and finished with a shedload of NXT techwax and I finally achieved a result that is IMHO better than when I collected it so maybe me being a plonker forced me into spending some quality time on it with excellent results.
So, the message is guys, USE VERY GOOD QUALITY CLOTHS AND DITCH THOSE OLD CHAMOIS!!!!!!
Here is the car after a good few hours graft :D .
I thought 666 was the sign of the beast!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this shot. It shows the actual metalic qualities of indianapolis red that is incredibly hard to capture in a photo unless you physically see the car in nice sunlight.

So you have been warned, ONLY use good quality cleaning products and chuck those crap old cloths in the bin and buy fresh ones!!!
