Well as the title suggests ive had a blinder of a weekend.. Saturday went to the Brighton Speed Trials. If you dont know what it is its basically presitge Run What Ya Brung down Madeira Drive right next to the beach on Brighton Seafront.
I'd never been before and didnt know quite what to expect. Was there for eight and met up with some mates about 12 of us in total and managed to grab a prize spot right by the start line. Set up our chairs and hunkered down to watch the racing. There were some amazing cars all the way through from a tarted up Ford Puma doing 9 second quarters. The Puma was running up a highly tuned RS200 Rally car engine hence the times :eek: to a Porsche Carrera Gt and even a Bentely GT :) Basically it was Petrol Head heaven :D

Then went down to my mates house in Essex and dropped in on Essex Cruise no real pics as there was nothing really worth of getting the camera out LOL
Which brings us to today. Another early start and off to Santa Pod for the Euro Drag Racing Finals. This was also a new event for me as even though ive been to the Pod last year ive never seen Top Fuel Drag Racing .........
OMFG !!!! The noise was undescribable anyone who has seen the Jet car and thinks that is loud it really is nothing comapred to the Top Fuel Dragsters 7000 + BHP and a quarter mile in just over 4 seconds is something you really have to see to believe.

Also witnessed the First top fuel dragster donut and the rear wheel come off and overtake the car. Some poor bastard is probably still chasing it now it seemed to go quite far :p

They also had the funny cars a jet car and all the other classes as well as the jet Bikes. Got to say though the Top Fuel is just a different class.
Managed to also bag my self a souvenir its a Piston from one of the Top fuel funny cars. See pic for size comparison :eek:

Forgot to mention also I saw 3 different Ferrari F40's one of my all time favourite cars in three different locations over the weekend. One at the Speed Trials, One at Pease Pottage services and another one on the M1 coming back from the Pod. What are the odds ?
