I think I'm in need for some new brakes!! My are terrible, When going round a track or going fast and come to brake quiet heavily it sounds they are over heating and make a horrible noise and then stop working for a few minutes. They are standard on there so I dont know if they are any good!!

What do you guys suggest?.. big brake kits?.. I know they are very pricey so is there a slighty cheaper option..

Cheers

You can either keep an eye out on PH, ebay, etc for a used BBK going at a better than new price, or just get a decent pad/disc combo. Perhaps Performance Friction or something (but still not cheap really). Either way, it is gonna cost ya unfortunately.

Get better pads.

As Baris said, get uprated pads, i'd also put some braided hoses and uprate the fluid too whilst you're at it.

If you want to go one step further, get Performance Friction Discs / Pads as they are superb.

Then of course after that you're heading into BBK world.

Put Stoptech discs and Axxis Ultimate pads, plus braided steel hoses, and better fluid, on mine and has been much better ever since. Got everything from CA and they fitted it as well, plus they were very helpful.

As above. I have got Stoptech Stage 2 upgrade on my E46 and its really good for track days as well as for everyday driving.

Yeah, that was the kit i got, came with everything included, can't remember what i paid but pretty sure it was around the £1,000 mark including fitting, might have been slightly more. Definitely feels better than the OEM discs and pads, even just for road use, and was impressed with how quiet they were as had heard bad reports about some other non-OEM pads.
