K3V HA,
From what I have read [read on a few BMW forums the rear coils/springs are prone to snapping and the front bushes are also prone to wearing quickly.

Good excuse to change the pads & discs for some uprated ones, and change the springs for some Eibach Pro springs giving you that nice drop [ok
Also Roy @ CA does Powerflex bushes (uprated & stiffer poly bushes) ;)

Disks and pads can be done for a lot less than 300 quid. Springs going is more common on the E36's but if they have gone, again cheaper to upgrade anyway, and the front bushes are sloppy anyway, but if they have gone get them sorted otherwise you will have to replace the whole wishbone. Most indy garages can do the bushes and they only cost a few quid from BMW for gen parts.

Common problem. I would get the Powerflex bushes since you're replacing them anyway. Cheaper too.
