Hi

Recently had my car dropped on boge springs... Everything was fine untill yesterday when someone sat in the back of the car and it was rubbing every corner i turned... I have 255/35/18 tyres at the back at the moment,

I was wondering if i should get the archs heated and pinned in, from a place which has been recommended or can i just put 235/40/18's on the back and the rubbing will go??

What do you lot think?

Cheers

Just roll the arches dude. Cheaper and a better solution in the long run. It's totally invisible unless you rear inside the arch and feel it.

[hmm do boge really drop the rear THAT much more? ...... im on eibachs with 19's and 255/40/19 tyres on the rear! I rarely rub even with full load in the back.

i have the same tyres on mine mate, with Boge springs. I had my arches rolled at R-Tech few weeks ago, not much clearence, but no1 sits in the back of mine, but alot better rolled.

Get em rolled mate - well worth it, I wouldn't drop down a tyre size the wider rears look the nuts!

Boge springs do generally drop a tad more than the Eibachs

Hi

I went to a place called Top Gear in West Brom today, and the guy goes that its really hard to roll the arch and it will not make a big difference if he does.. He has jus recommended me dropping tyre size to 235/40/18..

Has anyone had their archs done on a E46 Saloon and how has it turned out?

Even more importantly Does anyone know anyone in the midlands who could do an e46 saloon??

This is how it sat 1 day after lowering it.

It no difference to a coupe. A little makes all that difference! You get at least 1cm extra clearance after rolling the arches. Some of these people are just not interested in making things work, they would rather sell you some more tyres!

I'm not familar with Midlands, maybe Lee330sport can help you. But I use R-Tec in Hatfield and they do a superb job.

www.wheelmania.co.uk definately do this although I think they only do this now at their Leicester branch but don't quote me on that.

I'll second that - wheel mania can do arch rolling, they offered when I was trying to source my wheels through them.

Give them a call:
0116 2570777 (Mike - Leicester Branch) or
0121 6888844 (Wayne - Bham Branch)

Mahal, saw your last week parked just around the corner from where I live ....opposite that school.. ;) I drove past in my other car, stopped, reversed, pulled up and had a good look at your AC 4's, very nice mate.

How did you get on with your arch rolling at wheelmania ?

Do the AC 4's have a different offset? I have MV's on my saloon and Boge springs, and the same tyres. I've had the springs on for a few months and it sits even lower than yours now, and the tyres have never rubbed, even when we went on holiday and I loaded up the car with all the baby stuff and drove down to Devon. Looks like if you want to keep the wheel then as others have said you will have to roll the arches because if it's like mine, you are going lower!!!

This is mine just after it was done, now even lower.

Maybe he has changed his tyres to ones with a wider width ? I know you can can direct fitment AC 4's replica's so I doubt his bought ones that are'nt direct fit.

Matt, the ACS wheels have a more aggressive offset than the MV's. I think the type 4 are 37mm at the rear which is why his tyres are rubbing and yours dont.

Hi

Decided not to get the archs rolled cause the woman at wheel mania starting going that theirs a chance the paint can crack etc etc basically put me offf, so i put the 235/40/18's at the back and 225/40/18's at the front... so far its ok i just gotta get a full load in the car now...

Im not to sure on my offset... But apprently acording to Mrs Wheel Mania i need 225/40/18's all around to clear it....

MistaMiff... You've got me confused now, im trying to think were u saw my car?? Which school was it? :)
